NBC Wins Thursday; Weak Return for Fox's Kitchen Nightmares

It was an easy victory for NBC, with the season opening NFL Football match-up between the Washington Redskins and the New York Giants at an approximate 10.7 rating/17 share in the overnights for the prime-time (8-10 p.m.) portion.

TLC has appointed Nancy Daniels as new senior vp of production and development, where she’ll oversee all strategic planning and execution for the network’s programming. Based in Los Angeles, Daniels previously served as senior vp of development and production for Discovery Studios—West Coast. Prior to joining the Discovery family, Daniels was vp of alternative-series development at CBS, where she had a hand in a number of hit unscripted series, including Survivor, The Amazing Race and Big Brother.
