Her appointment is effective April 1...Kate Byrne was name vp of technology and living group at Future US, from sales vp, Loomia...Kevin Gentzel was named chief revenue officer at Forbes Media, a newly created position, heading sales teams for Forbes magazine, Forbes.com, ForbesLife and Forbes Woman. He most recently was president, group publisher, Forbes Media...Paul Greenberg was named digital president for the Time Inc. Lifestyle Group. He most recently was executive vp, TV Guide Online...Longtime sports marketer Jeff Price was named president, publisher of Sporting News. Price most recently was president, SI Digital, at Sports Illustrated. He succeeds Ed Baker, who was named chief strategic officer for American City Business Journals, of which Sporting News is a division...Ellen Rosenbush was named acting editor of Harper’s Magazine, from managing editor. She replaces Roger Hodge, who is stepping down after three years in the role and 13 in all at the magazine...Rolling Stone named Michael Wolfe as associate publisher of sales and Tracy Monahan as associate publisher of marketing. Wolfe most recently was vp, publisher of Rodale’s Best Life, which folded in May; while Monahan was associate publisher of creative services at Condé Nast’s Details...Justin Smith was elevated to president of Atlantic Media, from president of consumer media there. With the promotion, he adds oversight for the National Journal and Government Executive groups, which include the National Journal and CongressDaily publications...

Jason Bigler
has been named senior vp of product management and strategy at the online display ad company Collective. Bigler was most recently vp of product management at the SEO firm Conductor.

Also at Collective, Ray Colwell has been named vp of inside and Collective direct sales. Colwell was previously vp of sales at the mobile ad company Transpera.

Ralph Rivera
has been appointed president, online for Major League Gaming. Rivera was most recently the head of AOL Games and AOL Latino...Rob Hirschberg has been named East Coast director of sales for BBE. Hirschberg was most recently national director of online advertising and operations for Playboy Enterprises. Also at BBE, Gregory Weber has been named West Coast director of sales. Weber was previously director of multi-media advertising sales for The Wall Street Journal and Dow Jones...CBS MoneyWatch.com has named Jack Otter executive editor. Otter will be responsible for the daily operations of the site and report directly to Eric Schurenberg, editor in chief of CBS Moneywatch.com and BNET. As part of his day-to-day responsibilities, Otter will oversee CBS MoneyWatch.com’s editorial staff. Previously, Otter was deputy editor of Rodale’s Best Life, where he expanded the magazine’s focus on personal finance while also covering fitness, nutrition, relationships and travel. Prior to Best Life, Otter spent six years at SmartMoney...Todd Bowman has been named senior vp of sales at the social media/mobile application sales firm appssavvy. Bowman was previously West Coast sales director at Condé Nast Digital...Julie Diffenbach has been promoted to group director at Media Storm. Diffenbach was most recently associate director, interactive at the Norwalk, Conn.-based agency...Also at Media Storm, Erin Collins was named associate media director, interactive. Collins was most recent title was supervisor, interactive...The Huffington Post has made a slew of sales hires. Andy Wiedlin has been named vp of sales, West Coast; while Philip Cara has been named vp of sales, East Coast. Wiedlin was most recently vp, West sales for MySpace, while Cara was most recently regional sales director for AOL...

CABLE TV

Former HBO legal eagle John Redpath has been named senior vp and general counsel, Canoe Ventures.

Redpath most recently served as chief legal officer of the United States Golf Association. Prior to that, he was senior vp and general counsel of Time Inc., a position he held following a five-year stint at HBO, where he ascended to executive vp and general counsel.

A consortium owned by the nation’s six largest cable operators, the New York-based Canoe plans to launch an interactive advertising service in the spring.

Spike TV has elevated John Griffin to senior vp, programming, up from vp. In his newly expanded role, Griffin will continue to oversee all scheduling, media planning and acquisitions for the Viacom network. The move comes as Spike continues to bolster its original programming efforts. A five-year Spike TV veteran, Griffin has overseen a number of off-net series acquisitions, including Entourage, Band of Brothers and Married with Children. He also was instrumental in landing the rights to the Star Wars film franchise. Before joining Spike in 2005, Griffin spent 12 years at A&E, where he rose to the position of director of scheduling, acquisitions and program information...Former Universal Cable Productions exec Nikki Reed has been named vp, original series, Disney Channel and Disney XD. In her new role, Reed oversee development of new live-action programming for the two networks and their respective digital platforms. In addition to steering all pilot efforts, Reed will be tasked with recruiting series creators, executive producers, writers and directors. Based in Los Angeles, she reports to Adam Bonnett, senior vp, original programming, Disney Channel...Reed most recently served as vp of current series and development at Universal Cable Productions. A 13-year industry veteran, Reed also held senior development positions at Bungalow 78 Productions and Junction Entertainment. In 2005, she served as an executive producer on the Mark Wahlberg feature Invincible.
 


Comcast’s network advertising sales unit has elevated Jes Santoro to vp, sales and advanced advertising. In his new role, Santoro will lead advertising sales for the cable network G4, as well as advanced advertising applications across Comcast’s entertainment properties, which include: E!, Versus and The Style Network. Santoro previously served as director of sales, emerging media and networks for Comcast’s ad sales group. He reports to Patty Gilchrist, senior vp, national sales...The Comcast Entertainment Group has upped Suzanne Kolb to the newly-created role of president of marketing, news and online for E! and The Style Network. Kolb previously served as chief marketing officer for E! and Style, and general manager of E! Online. In her new position, Kolb will spearhead all marketing efforts for E!’s news division, while continuing to oversee marketing efforts for the two networks. Prior to joining Comcast in 2005, Kolb served as executive vp of marketing at The WB, where she was instrumental in developing campaigns for series like Dawson’s Creek, Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Gilmore Girls...Also receiving a promotion is Kevin MacLellan, who was named president of Comcast’s international media group and entertainment productions unit, the latter of which which develops and produces programming for third-party outlets. MacLellan, who previously served as president of the international media group, has re-upped for another three years...MacLellan also will oversee production for a number of E! franchises, including: The Soup, Live From the Red Carpet and E! True Hollywood Story. Before coming to E! In 2001, he was vp of international television networks at Columbia TriStar International Television in London.

LOCAL BROADCAST TV

Neil Kelleher has been named sales manager of WGBH’s local corporate sponsorship unit.

In his new role, Kelleher will be charged with developing sales strategies to drive local corporate sponsorship efforts for the Boston-based public broadcaster.

With 16 years in media sales under his belt, Kelleher most recently served as local sales manager at New England Cable News, directing both linear TV and Internet sales efforts. Previously, Kelleher was director of sales, ESPN Radio; prior to that he logged 11 years at Boston NBC affiliate WHDH-7, rising to local sales manager.

Radio programmer Jon Zellner is returning to terrestrial radio as senior vp of programming for Clear Channel Radio, effective July 20. Zellner was most recently senior vp of music programming for Sirius XM. In his new position, Zellner wil work with CCR's program directors, reporting to Mark Kopelman, executive vp of operations for CCR...Long-time Arbitron executive Jay Guyther has joined ROI Media Solutions, a full-service broadcast consulting firm, as partner. In his new position, Guyther will spearhead, on behalf of ROI's clients, the company's outreach to agencies and advertisers to help them plan and buy radio. Before joining ROI, Guyther held a number of sales and management positions, serving most recently as senior vp of ratings services and senior vp of global portable people meter marketing and business development...
