Condé Nast's Brides.com plans to dispatch editors armed with
high-tech cell phone cameras to shoot live footage from several
upcoming bridal fashion shows in New York.
Starting on Oct. 17, the site’s staffers will stream live action
from various bridal showcases hosted by designers like Amsale,
Alfred, Angelo, Christos, Platinum, Kenneth Pool and others. Rather
than sending a full camera crew, Brides.com’s editors will shoot
raw, unfiltered footage from these events using Nokia N75 mobile
phones, which come equipped with Flixwagon video technology—a
technology which is specifically designed for streaming live video
remotely.
The live-from-the-runway footage will be featured on Brides.com’s
Wedded Bits blog. There, editor in chief Michelle Preli will also
regularly post commentary on the various show’s goings on, said
officials.
