Phil Boyce, one of radio's most renowned Talk programmers, has landed at Talk Radio Network as president of Talk Radio Network Syndications and president of programming for several TRN companies including The Original Talk Radio Network, Talk Radio Network Enterprises, Talk Radio Network Entertainment and Talk Radio Network-FM. The move, announced Thursday (Nov. 13), comes about one month after Boyce exited WABC-AM in New York after 14 years.

In his new position, Boyce will oversee TRN's national syndicated lineup, which includes shows such as The Michael Savage Show, The Laura Ingraham Show, The Mancow Show, The Phil Hendrie Show, The Tammy Bruce Show and more.

"This is a natural transition for me, and I felt the timing was perfect for me to strike out as an entrepreneur. The best of them is Mark Masters [CEO of Talk Radio Network]," said Boyce. "I patterned much of my success after what I learned from Mark. It makes perfect sense for us to join forces now and help radio out of this difficult economic situation."

Boyce has a long track record in developing radio talent. His credits include creating programs such as Curtis and Kuby, Matt Drudge, Sean Hannity and Mark Levin, the latter three syndicated by ABC Radio Networks, now owned by Citadel.

"There is nobody in the radio industry that has more experience in programming and harvesting new talent than Phil Boyce," Masters said.

2009-01-07

CBS scored an easy overnight Tuesday victory with its winning line-up of NCIS, bona fide freshman hit The Mentalist and Without a Trace.  But the season-premiere (and network launch) of ABC's Scrubs only proved that this sitcom should have ended two years ago.
