Fox's L.A. O&O to Premiere New Newscast

The broadcast will be co-anchored by Tony McEwing and Jean Martirez with Lisa Breckenridge covering entertainment and Maria Quiban providing weather forecasts

KTTV, Fox Television's owned-and-operated Los Angeles station on Monday (Dec. 8) will debut a new half-hour newscast, Fox 11 News at Noon, taking on the sole local newscast at that hour broadcast by KCAL, CBS Television's independent station.

The broadcast will be co-anchored by Tony McEwing and Jean Martirez with Lisa Breckenridge covering entertainment and Maria Quiban providing weather forecasts. All four also anchor the Fox 11 News at 5 a.m., 6 a.m. and 10 a.m.

In July, KTTV added an additional newscast at 10 a.m., providing five and a half hours of local morning news beginning at 5 a.m.

CBS Wins Tuesday; Lackluster Start for Scrubs on ABC

2009-01-07

CBS scored an easy overnight Tuesday victory with its winning line-up of NCIS, bona fide freshman hit The Mentalist and Without a Trace.  But the season-premiere (and network launch) of ABC's Scrubs only proved that this sitcom should have ended two years ago.
