Gannett Announces Executive Stations Appointments

Ken Tonning was named president and general manager of WTSP-TV, the company's CBS affiliate serving the Tampa-St. Petersburg, Fla. market

Gannett Broadcasting Friday (Nov. 21) announced three executive appointments in its TV station group.

Ken Tonning was named president and general manager of WTSP-TV, the company's CBS affiliate serving the Tampa-St. Petersburg, Fla. market, from president and general manager of WTLV-TV ad WJXX-TV, the company's NBC and ABC affiliates in Jacksonville, Fla. He'll be succeeded in Jacksonville by Dodie Cantrell-Bickley, who moves from Macon, Ga. where she served as president and general manager of WMAZ-TV, the CBS affiliate.

Moving to corporate, Anthony Diaz was named to the position of vp of sales strategy and development. He was most recently vp and general sales manager for WUSA-TV, the company's CBS affiliate in Washington, D.C.

Ken Tonning was named president and general manager of WTSP-TV, the company's CBS affiliate serving the Tampa-St. Petersburg, Fla. market, from president and general manager of WTLV-TV ad WJXX-TV, the company's NBC and ABC affiliates in Jacksonville, Fla. CBS Wins Tuesday; Lackluster Start for Scrubs on ABC

CBS scored an easy overnight Tuesday victory with its winning line-up of NCIS, bona fide freshman hit The Mentalist and Without a Trace.  But the season-premiere (and network launch) of ABC's Scrubs only proved that this sitcom should have ended two years ago.
