Barnet Upped to VP Telemundo, Nat'l Sales Organization

Barnet will oversee all NSO offices and drive revenue by working with key accounts and creating innovative group deals.

Andy Barnet, vp of sales for KVEA, NBC Universal's owned-and-operated Telemundo station in Los Angeles was promoted Tuesday to vp of Telemundo National Sales Organization.

In his new position, Barnet will oversee all NSO offices and drive revenue by working with key accounts and creating innovative group deals. In addition, Barnet will help improve sales service to Telemundo's affiliate group.

"[Barnet] is among the most respected sales leaders in Spanish media and I'm certain he will grow partnerships with our key clients on all Telemundo stations," said Enrique Perez, senior vp of Telemundo Station Sales, to whom Barnet will report.

Prior to serving as vp of sales at KVEA, Barnet was general sales manager. He began his career at an ad agency in Los Angeles and held several sales positions at rep firm Blair Television as well as several TV stations.

Although there is still no definitive answer on whether or not the actors will strike, at this point it is too late to cancel the Press Tour. But noticeably different this year will be fewer newer series panels (only 17 shows are launching this fall versus 29 last year).
