Bloomberg LP expects to keep “a majority” of BusinessWeek’s 400 or so employees, including its publisher Jessica Sibley and three of its top editors, according to a Bloomberg memo.

Sibley, currently senior vp, worldwide publisher of BusinessWeek, is the highest-ranking executive so far to be joining Bloomberg after its acquisition of the weekly magazine is complete. She’ll have the title of publisher, overseeing print and digital sales, at BusinessWeek, the memo stated.

The details about the integration were outlined in a Nov. 5 memo to BusinessWeek employees from Norman Pearlstine, Bloomberg’s chief content officer; and Chris Walters, a multimedia and news strategy executive there.

The magazine’s editor Steve Adler and president Keith Fox have already announced they’ll step down. Bloomberg has said it expects to name a new editor for the magazine by Dec. 1, when the sale is projected to close.

The memo also named two other BusinessWeek executives that will be coming over to Bloomberg: Tania Secor, vp, finance; and Carl Fischer, vp, communications. Editors Ellen Pollack, John Byrne and Ciro Scotti will continue in their editorial roles.

Roger Neal, general manager of BusinessWeek.com, will be leaving the company, while the magazine’s digital team will report to Bloomberg.com head Kevin Krim, the memo revealed.

The memo said the company expected to provide more details by Nov. 20 about BusinessWeek employees’ future roles and to make more leadership announcements in the “near future.”
