July 2, 2008

-By Lucia Moses

Meredith Corp. named ex-Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia exec Lauren Stanich to a new position aimed at growing More, its monthly aimed at age 40-plus women; and niche shelter title ReadyMade.

A Meredith spokesperson said the appointment was designed to help two of its titles that are seen as having strong potential and unrelated to an April shakeup that moved several executives around to put more resources into corporate and cross-platform sales.

Stanich's title will be senior vp in the publishing group, reporting to executive vp Andy Sarayen. Reporting to her will be the publishers and editors of both magazines. She starts in her new position July 21.

Stanich exited as president of publishing at Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia in July 2007, when Wenda Harris Millard, now co-CEO, joined the company as president. Stanich had spent 16 years with the company, including many in consumer marketing roles.

I’d never seen a syndicated court show taped in person, so I was not about to turn down a recent invitation to attend an afternoon’s worth of episodes for upcoming Sony Pictures Television gaveler Judge Karen, presided over by South Florida judge Karen Mills-Francis.
