Berger returns to her roots at Gourmet
In Condé Nast's second string of publisher changes this year, Tom
Hartman, vp, publisher, Gourmet, will move to over the Condé Nast
Media Group as vp, corporate sales, reporting to Lou Cona, senior
vp at the Media Group.
Nancy Berger Cardone, currently vp, publisher of Allure, will
succeed Hartman as vp, publisher, Gourmet. The move is a homecoming
of sorts for Cardone, who started her career at the company in 1989
as an account manager at Gourmet.
Gourmet has had a revolving door of publishers in recent years;
Cardone
will become the title's fourth in six years. Ad pages were down
19.9 percent to 457 for the first half of this year, per the
Mediaweek Monitor.
Hartman will fill a position, albeit with a higher-level title,
previously held by Jason Wagenheim. Wagenheim, executive director
of corporate sales, will become associate publisher at Vanity
Fair.
Wagenheim will succeed Agnes Chapski, who was named vp, publisher,
Allure, succeeding Cardone.
All the changes will take effect May 12.
Earlier this year, Condé Nast shuffled its management, giving
broader responsibilities to Vogue, Glamour and Portfolio publishers
Tom Florio, Bill Wackermann and David Carey and cutting three other
top executives, Mitchell Fox, Amy Churgin and Sandy Golinkin.
